Soldier married Sarah Dabney (also referred to sas Sarah Cauthorn), and both of them died 1823 or 1824 in Tattnall Co., Ga. 2/4/1856, their only surviving children, Adin Boyd (son), age 52 and Blanchy Jones, age 68, residents of Lowndes Co., Ga. applied for pension for the service of his father. Not allowed.

He emigrated to Pittsylvania Co. in 1783 where has lived ever since.

She married 10/27/1891 husband who d. 7/24/,1817. Depositions of H. P. A. Davis and William R. Barber who were acquainted with late Mrs. Anna Jordan, wid. of late Thomas, and examined the Family Bible of Gabriel Jordan and wid. who d. 11/5/1838 and Gabriels only living children of Anna and Thomas, on 2/28/1854. Virginia, Page Co., 2/22/1839, Gabriel Jordan, heir of late Anna Jordan who d. 11/5/1838, states that Thomas Jordan married Anna Barbee 10/27/1791 and had surviving children--Mary McDonald and Gabriel Jordan.

TOMS, Thomas. An entry for Thomas Toms appears on the 1794 list of Invalid Pension Claims for Virginia. (American State Papers) His entry on the 1794 list of invalid pensioners for Virginia in the Claims volume states that he lived in Albemarle County, Virginia. He was wounded in 1780 at Kings Mountain and claimed a pension relating to the following disability:"Severely wounded on the head, being scalped on the left temple with a stroke from a hatchet, which does much injury to that eye; is also disabled in two fingers on the left hand, and wounded in the right hip and neck; all which he received in the service of the United States, against Major Ferguson, on King's mountain." The examining physician gave no recommendation for pension entitlement.
