Hansen, Ernest, the second son of Jens Hansen (1895-1979) and Jenny Hansen (1700-1784), was born in Denmark. He had 3 sons and two daughters and settled in Pellicer Creek area in the 1930s on 48 acres. Later, he acquired 500 acres in the Faver Dykes State Park area. Source: Miscellaneous H.
Hannum, James R., a recently discharged army captain, was appointed the first sheriff of St. John County 7/26/1821. Sources: Orange County Historical Society\; Territorial Papers 22-133/4.
Harrison, Samuel, the owner of lands at Lynchs Creek, enlisted with the Robert Harrison corps of South Carolina Rangers 6/6/1780. John had the rank of Major; the two other were captains. The group seems to have formed at Camden, South Carolina and to have remained at or near that place until mid-1781. From October 25 to Dec 25, 1781, the group was at the Quarter House in South Carolina. Captain Harrison was killed on 10/14/1780 after the evacuation of Charleston in December 1782, Samuel Harrison went to East Florida with 5 slaves and is recorded at St. Augustine on 6/24/1783 with the rank of Captain-Lieutenant in the Co. of Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Innes, South Carolina Royalists. In 1786 he was at Black River with one white dependent and 7 Negroes. While at Black River, he was empowered to act for Robert English by going to Belize to claim property left to English by Barby Larey. He was executor of the LWT of Robert English in 1788 and married his daughter, Elizabeth. Hooker, James W., the veteran of two wars died aged 59. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I, and died at 66 Madeora Street. Native of Macon, Georgia, born 1/8/1880. Served in 1st Georgia Army 12th Infantry. Source: St. Augustine Record 19 June 1939.
Hrabowski, Mrs. Ann made a claim for a Town Lot with two houses in St. Augustine and 100 acres on the St. Johns River. She and her husband came to St. Augustine from Charleston in 1770. Source: Loyalists in East Florida, Vol. II by Wilber H. Siebert.
Hull, Abiatha and Ambrose Abiatha Hull died 1808 intestate in St. Augustine, Florida. Ambrose Hall owned property on the St. James River and moved to New Smyrna, but in 1812 moved back to St. Augustine because of Spanish invasion. Ambrose and Abiatha were born in Connecticut and in 1821, Ambrose went to New York for a visit and died there. His wife was Stella Hll Hull who died 1823 in St. Augustine. Tondee, Charles was born in Lonodon in 1727 and was the younger brother of Peter Tondee who owned a tavern in Savannah and came to Georgia with Oglethorpe. A daughtr of Peter Tondee, Elizabeth, married Nicholas Champaign, a shopkeeper in Savannah and may have moved to South Georgia or Florida. The daughter of Peter Tondee, Lucy, married (1)Jacob Oates, Revolutionary War Lieutenant who was killed in Georgia in 1776 and (2) John Herault and their son John Herault was baptised in St. Augustine in 1798. Wagner, John and family were banished from Charleston at the British evacuation of 1782. He was a merchant and went to St. Augustine. The son of John, George Wagner, later married Ann Hrabowski, daughter of Samuel and Ann in London.
