Cumberland County Wills and Estates

Virginia Map

Cumberland County was formed 1749 from Goochland County. Cumberland is the county seat. Early settlers were Germans and Irish. The county was named for William Augustus, duke of Cumberland, third son of George II. The first two books of Cumberland County Probate Records did not survive well. These are the best copies available.
