Chaffin of Virginia and Georgia

John Chaffin died January 1773 in Cumberland County, Virginia, his LWT dated 26 June 1767, probated 25 January 1773. At the time of the will, his son, Christopher, was deceased. Issue:

• Christopher Chaffin died 1769 in Cumberland County, Virginia.
• Joshua Chaffin, Revolutionary War Soldier from Cumberland County, Virginia. He died in Charlotte County, Virginia, his LWT probated on 4 February 1805. Issue:

  1. Thomas Chaffin.
  2. Isham Chaffin, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born 1750/1760 in Prince Edward County, Virginia and died in Wilkes County, Georgia, his LWT dated 2 May 1822, probated on 26 August 1823. He married (1) Betsy Bird on 18 December 1778 in Prince Edward County, Virginia. Surety: Williamson Bird. Betsy died in Wilkes County. He married (2) Patience Atkinson in Wilkes County. Patience was born 5 November 1764 in Virginia and died 27 May 1860 in Morgan County, Georgia.

  2. Martha (Patsy) Chaffin married 5 January 1802 in Wilkes County, Francis Malone.

  7. Thomas Chaffin.
  8. Sarah Chaffin married Jesse J. Roan on 25 December 1811 in Wilkes County.
