  1. I am researching my 3rd great grandfather, Benjamin Johnston. I have no documentation other than a family history compiled by a relative. We do know his wife’s first name was Zilpha, and that he had at least 3 children. We believe he and his wife were born in NC in the late 1700s. They left NC and moved first to Georgia, and then on to Alabama, where we believe Benjamin died. Zilpha purchased land in Mississippi around 1835 and moved there with her children, all of which is well documented.
A local genealogist here in NC has told me that there are 2 records in Georgia that might be for my Benjamin: 1) John and Benjamin Johnston appear on the Pulaski Co. tax list of 1818, and 2) Benjamin Johnston shows on a tax list in Warren Co. in 1794.

Might you be able to help me find those records? Thank you so much.
