Abrams Home, Savannah, founded ca 1820. Mrs. Theodora Abrams, donor. Hebrew benefice

Americus Orphans Home. Rev. J. B. Culpepper (1886)

Appleton Orphans Home, Macon. This was the estate of C. W. Appleton. William H. Appleton. In 1888 subscriptions were taken to keep it solvent.

Atlanta Female Institute & College of Music founded 1865 by Mrs. J. W. Ballard on Peachtree Street; afterwards occupied by Hon. B. H. Hill; the orphanage moved to the basement of the First Presbyterian Church which was closed with the opening of public schools.

Augusta Orphans Home, established in 1852. Isaac D. Tuffle (died 12/12/1855) bequeathed his residence on Walker Street (and money)

Baptist Orphans Home, Atlanta, established in 1871. Ex-Gov. Brown and Mrs. J. H. James donated $1,000 each (Removed to Hapeville and located on the Central of Georgia Railroad, 55 acres)

Bethseda Orphanage, Savannah. Est. ca 1738 by Rev. Mr. Whitefield on a 500 acre land grant near Savannah. 1860 Orphans, Superintendant Simeon L. Murphy.

Catholic Orphan Asylum, 1860 orphans, Very Rev. Peter Whelan, clergyman Decatur Orphan's Home established in 1880, built by voluntary contributions. Has a board of three trustees.

Female Asylum, Savannah, founded 1801. 1860 orphans, Margaret Dodd (age 47) from Westmorelandshire, England, matron

Georgia Baptist Orphans Home, Fulton County. Hebrew Orphans Home, Atlanta. House of our Lady of Mercy, Savannah. No record was kept of the birth place of the children. Sisters in 1850: Eliza Mahany, age 43, b. Ireland; Catharine McKenna, age 48, b. Ireland, Catharine McKenna, age 28, b. Ireland, Eliza Fagan, age 34, b. Ireland; Julia O'Connell, age 30, b. Ireland; Johanna O'Connell, age 25, b. Ireland; Ann Dunne, age 36, b. Ireland; Mary Casey, age 20, b. Ireland; Eliza Worth, age 20, b. Ireland; Catharine Folliard, age 22, b. Ireland and Mary Elliot, age 30, b. Ireland

Methodist Episcopal Church South. They had two homes: North Georgia Conference in Decatur, 1867, 22 acres, and Macon's Orphan's Home, established in 1857

Methodist Episcopal Home, Macon Methodist Orphanage, founded by Rev. Jesse Boring of the Methodist Episcopal Church; moved from Norcross to DeKalb County in 1872, Flat Shoals Road The Industrial Home, near Macon. Founded 2/1899 by Rev. William E. Mumford

Woman's Home, Marietta Street, Atlanta. 1886 advisory board: W. A. Hemphill, Hon. Henry Hillyer, Hon. R. F. Abbott, J. Norcross, Albert Howard, W. Woods Wheto.
