Heard County Wills and Estates
Heard County was created in 1830 from the counties of Carroll, Coweta, and Troup. The court house burned in 1893, destroying all of the records.
Genealogy Tips. . .A suggestion is to search old newspaper records for estate and administrator sales which were published three consecutive times. Also, a search of the 1863 Reconstructed Militia should unfold all males over 21 years of age and up to 50 years. This one search could fill in family members.
