Scottish Highlanders to Georgia

The Scottish Highlanders were recruited by Oglethorpe from Inverness, Scotland, and sailed from Scotland on "the Prince of Wales" in October of 1735. They arrived in Savannah on 19 January 1736, and settled at Darien, then called "New Inverness". Capt. Dunbar (scottish) brought several passengers to America. John Macintosh, sometimes called John Mohr Macintosh, or John Macintosh Mohr, was instrumental in leading his clan to America. Mohr means "the great".
