Washington County Marriages 1834 to 1906
Due to a fire, the court house records for Washington County do not begin until 1852. As this is one of the earliest counties in Georgia, which received persons drawing land from their Revolutionary War service, any supplemental information is helpful. These marriages were extracted from newspaper records.
Brookins to Watkins. Married in Washington County near Sandersville, Sunday, 30th April, by Rev. E. W. Kelly, Solomon B. Brookins to Miss Mary Ann Watkins, both of Baldwin County. Ref: The Southern Recorder, 5 May 1837.
Cullens to Roe. Married at the residence of William A. Skrine, Esquire, Mr. Miles D. Cullens of Washington County to Miss Ann H. Roe, eldest daughter of Alex S. Roe of Savannah. Ref: The Southern Recorder, 6 December 1828.
