Barberic, Isaac married Mary Smith, the widow of Nathaniel Alexander Smith. Warren Deed Book B, pp. 319-320. Nathaniel Alexander Smith, formerly of that part of Wilkes County that is now Warren, did, in 1789 decease intestate. The legal heirs and legatees are his wife, Mary Smith; daughter, Nancy Smith; son, James Smith....He did own land on Greens Creek (or Childres Creek) adjoining an old line of Richmond County lands of William Scott and Thomas Ansley, being 500 acres. Since then, Nancy Smith has intermarried with Isaac Barberic of Warren County...mentions a division of the propoerty. No date, but it could be around 1800.
Caldwell, Paul and Germany, Sarah. Columbia County Deed Book A, page 15. 6 July 1789. "Sarah Germany (widow) and Paul Caldwell, both of Richmond County, bond of Stephen Heard of Wilkes County for 3000 pounds sterling. "Whereas, a marriage shortly proposed to be solemnized between said Sarah German, widow, and said Paul Caldwell...and said Sarah Germany being desirous to secure such part, both of land and Negroes as she may receive of the estate of her late husband, William Germany, on a division being made according to law unto James Germany, Mary Germany, William Germany, John Germany, Jean Germany and Stephen Germany, children of said Sarah Germany and said William Germany, deceased....reserving same for herself and Paul Caldwell for her natural life and at her decease to be the only right property and estate of above children....share and share alike."
Carswell, Benniah S. to Margaret Hadden. Henry County Deed Book A, page 562. Headed Jefferson County. Mary Hadden, the guardian of the person and property of William Hadden, minor heir of William Hadden, deceased, did, in the late lottery of 1821 draw Lot No. 47 in the 7th District of Henry County and said orphans consisted of Margaret Hadden who has since intermarried with Binniah S. Carswell, Gordon Hadden, who are now both at legal discretion and WIlliam Hadden who is still a minor...Mary Hadden applied to the Court of Ordinary in Jefferson County for leave to sell part of said tract of land which belonged to the minor heirs and with approbation of Benniah S. Carswell and said Gordon Hadden, said land was sold at public sale on the first Tuesday of June instant...when same was knocked off to John Sellers of said County for $100.00
Jackson, Joseph and Mary Jackson. Separation Agreement. Greene Co. Deed Book 2, pp. 508-509. 3 August 1801. Memorandum of Agreement made between Joseph Jackson and Mary Jackson, his wife, both of Greene County. Witnesseth: that the said Joseph and Mary hath this day agreed to a separation in welock and property on the following terms: The said Joseph agrees and does hereby relinquish to the said Mary a tract of land on the waters of Stewart's Creek of the Beaverdam containing 245 acres, bounded South by James Stewart, West by Crib's, agreeable to a deed made by Aaron Levingston to said Joseph Jackson which is this day entered of record and to give her immediate possession of the same to live on during her natural life or until marriage. He also gives to Mary one equal half of all the personal estate that of right belongs to him at this time except one still and the furniture belonging to it, two yoke of oxen and a cart, a corner cubboard and the furniture actually belonging to the grist and saw mill. All the rest of the property such as Negroes, etc. to be equally divided but at the marriage or death of the said Mary the property is to be equally divided "amongst my children share and share alike to-wit: William Jackson, Isaac Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Benjamin Jackson, Nathaniell Jackson, Burk Jackson and the one that my wife is now pregnant with..." Joseph also agrees to give the said Mary 100 bushes of corn this fall. The said Mary agrees to comply with the Agreement and to quit claim rights of dower as in wedlock belongs to her.
Smith, William to Annah Knight. Henry County Deed Book A, page 584. 23 July 1828. Deed between William Smith of the State of South Carolina dn Beaufort District, for himself and in right of his wife, Annath Smith, formerly Annath Knight and as guardian of the orphans and minor heirs of Stephen Knigh, deceased, late of Henry County, Georgia and Screven County of the first part and Solomon Bryan of Screven County of the other part, said William Smith on 5 June 1826 was appointed by the Honorable Inferior Court of Screven County as guardian of the person and property of the orphans and minor heirs.... On 7 May 1827 the property was sold at the Henry County Court house on 6 May 1828 (drawn in a land lottery). Solomon Bryan was the highest bidder $300.50, and was conveyed 202-1/2 acres of land adj. Lots. 67, 61, 68, 69.
Springer, Job to Lydia May, widow of James May deceased. Warren County Deed Book A, pp. 595-6. 28 December 1797. Job Springer and Lydia, his wife (now the wife of said Springer but late the wife of James May, deceased), Joseph Davidson and Winney (one of the heirs of James May, deceased) and Darcus Masse and Lydia May, the heirs of said James May, deceased to Jacob Burkhalter land on Bryar Creek for $300.00.
Tarver, William to Nancy Smith, widow of Nathaniel Alexander Smith. Warren County Deed Book B, pp. 383-4. Whereas, in 1789 Nathaniel Alexander Smith, a citizen of the part of Wilkes County known as Warren, deceased, died intestate without a will, leaving legal and legitimate heirs, Mary Smith, his wife, a daughter, Nancy Smith and one son, James Smith...land on Greens Creek (Childres Creek) adj. William Scott, Thomas Ansley and by the Richmond County line, surveyed for said Smith in 1785. Mary, the widow, has now intermarried with William Tarver. William Tarver and Mary sell land to Jacob Darden, their third of the 550 acres. No date.
Turner, John P. to Pheriby Carver. Henry County Deed Book A, page 11. (not dated). Power of Attorney made in Telfair County by John P. Turner of Appling County to General John Coffee of Telfair County to empower said General Coffee to sell Lot No. 156 in the 8th District and Lot No. 151 in the 11th District of Henry County. Said lots were drawn in 1821 Land Lottery by Pheriby Carver and that John P. Turner was autorized to sell the lots "since his marriage to the said Pheriby Carver."
Wheeler, James married Susannah Wall, widow. Warren County Deed Book B, pp. 398-399. 18 February 1804. James Wheeler deeds to John Fontaine, planter, 50 acres on Williams Creek, being part of a 200 acre land grant to Susannah Wall (widow) granted on 9 April 1784 and vested in the said Wheeler by his intermarriage with the said Susannah.
Wilkerson, Bailey to Jane Linn, widow of Charles Linn, Sr. Warren County Deed Book B, pp. 407-408. 14 December 1802. Charles Linn deeds to William Smyth for $500.00, 280 acres formerly in Richmond County, now Warren, originally granted to Charles Linn, Sr., deceased and left by him to his son, John Linn on 30 December 1788, said John Linn since deceased....and purchased by his brother Fergus on 18 December 1801; 70 acres by purchase from Bailey Wilkerson in right of his wife, Jane Linn and other acres purchased from his sister, Ann Linn.
