Thomas Jones of Greenwood Plantation
Greenwood is located two miles west of Thomasville, and was built for Thomas Jones who moved to Thomas County in 1827. His original house was made of logs, later building a two-story frame home. the house was designed by the English architect, John Wind and was built ca 1834-1844. Revival home. Brick was made on the old plantation, and sand came from the Ochlocknee River. The present owner is John Hay Whitney.
