Reverend John Martin Bolzius of Effingham County
Good Harmony Plantation

Rev. John Martin Bolzius arrived in the colony on March 12, 1733/1734 and served for over 30 years as the
minister and chief director of the Saltzburgers, in Ebenezer. He was married to Gertrude Rhomoriseen and they resided on their 500-acre plantation in Joseph's Town. He took an active part in colonizing, and when the settlers in Ebenezer were instructed to
learn the art of reeling from Mrs. Camuse, he wrote in his journal on May 11, 1741, that 20 girls had succeeded in making 17 pounds of cocoons which were sold in Savannah for #3.8s. He
died in Ebenezer in 1766. The marker is located at Rincon, Georgia.
