Zimmerman of Germany, Pennsylvania and Wilkes County



Barnard Johann Zimmerman was born ca 1740 in Germany and died February 1822 in Wilkes County, Georgia. Wife, Salome. His LWT dated 22 May 1820, probated 4 March 1822 in Wilkes County left his son, Philip, $1.00. Son, John, $100.00. Son, Simon, 300 acres including the plantation. To granddaughter, Sary Benson, slaves (Joe, Mary), feather bed, etc. Granddaughter: Susan Gilmore, $100.00 and her two children, Ruthy and Mary (a slave, Amy). To son, Simon, daughter, Elizabeth Guise and grandson, William Guise, 5 slaves. The residue to be divided between grandchildren, the children of sons Philip and John Zimmerman and daughter, Elizabeth Guise, except William Guise and Susan Gilmore.
