Williams of Beach Island, South Carolina
Lud Williams died March 1798 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. Heirs of his estate were: nephews, Lud Harris, Lewis Harris and Elihu Williams. Also, Sarah Williams.

A Deed in Trust dated 23 July 1808, of Elihu Williams, planter, to John Clarke of Beach Island, planter. "Elihu Williams is desirous to settle and transfer under considerations hereby declared unto said John Clarke to make over same to him in trust, for natural love he hat with Elizabeth his wife, Lud and Thomas, his sons, Mary, Frances and Elizabeth, his daughters, and of sum of $1.00 to him in hand paid by John Clarke, the following tracts of land; one tract of pine land of 218-1/2 acres adj. one other tract of 154 acres of pine land bounded on land of Lud Henry, Charles
Goodwin, Joseph Hire and George Miller; also 95 acres on Beach Island being undivided part or moiety of a tract containng 1,000 acres originally
surveyed for Lud Williams, deceased, Edward Rowell and John Clarke; and following Negroes, viz: Ben, Ellick, Ned, Jack, Hannah, Charlotte, Morning,
Milley, Linder, with the increse of the females. The limitations of the Trust to suffer the said Elizabeth, wife of said Elihu Williams, to hold,
use and work said land and employ all slaves with increase of females, everything before mentioned for her natural life free and clear, and also all
my children that may be hereafter born. Proven 27 September 1808.
