Descendants of Wiley Jones

WILEY J. JONES was born 02 Oct 1810 in South Carolina, and died 12 Jan 1856 in Paulding County, Georgia. He married NANCY CRUMPTON 22 Oct 1837 in Paulding County, Georgia, daughter of JEHU CRUMPTON and "FANNY" SCATES. She was born 1825 in Clarke Co., GA (may have been born in 1820), and died 13 Jul 1902 in Paulding County, Georgia. Old Jones Cemetery. Quoting from Dale Loudermilk, "The family cemetery is on a hill just above where the cabin stood, Wiley, Nancy, three of their children and six grandchildren are all buried there. There are two graves marked with field stones. There is a beautiful panoramic view from the cemetery, you can see Lost Mountain and Kennesaw Mountain from there. It is such a peaceful place, a place where I enjoy going to meditate. On the old homeplace, but not in the cemetery, their son, called "Boss" Jones, is buried. He was shot in a saloon in Dallas that stood on the Northwest corner at the intersection where the traffic light is now located. He was shot but the wound did not kill him, he developed phemonia and died.&qut;
