GABRIEL VALENTINE
GABRIEL VALENTINE was b. in Italy in 1794, migrated to Bibb
Co., Ga., with his son, Lewis, about 1841. As a young man, Gabriel was a watchmaker in Italy and continued his trade in America. His
family lived in Wilkinson Co., Ga., removing to Macon about 1845.

- DANIEL VALENTINE b. 1833, was a coachmaker at the age of
seventeen years. April of 1862 he enlisted in Confederate Service at Macon, Co. 2nd Battalion, Ga. Volunteers; 12/1862 detailed in Macon arsenal, making guns, etc. When Sherman began his raids in Georgia, Daniel was ordered not to repel the rains but to remain at Findley's Foundry to continue making arms for the South.
11/3/1864 he m. Missouri Lanier who applied for a pension, however,
was denied on the basis that Daniel Valentier had been a deserter.
