John Sherwood Thomas. The Bible of John Sherwood Thomas states that John S. Sherwood married Eliza Neyle in the Christ Church in Savannah by Rev. Mr. Goforth on July 9, 183--. However, a marriage for John S. Thomas is also recorded in Baldwin County, to Eliza H. Neyle on 7/9/1837.[1] Issue:

• Mary New (or Neuse) Thomas was born 5/10/1831 near Milledgeville, Ga.
• John Greenberry Thomas was born 3/28/1833 in Milledgeville. He married Anna M. Drayton, daughter of Thomas F. Drayton of South Carolina, in Midway, Baldwin County, on 12/7/1864. Issue:

  1. Catharine Drayton Thomas, born in Dooly County on 11/30/1866, died 9/25/1867 in Dooly County.
  2. Edith Carson Thomas, born in Dooly County on 3/31/1868, died 9/12/1881 in Midway.
  3. Bessie Neyle Thomas, born in Dooly County on 12/10/1870.
  4. John G. Thomas, Jr., born 6/21/1873.
  5. Martha Gadsden Thomas, born in Midway on 9/14/1876.
  6. Thomas F. Drayton Thomas, born in Scottsboro on 10/28/1880

• Eliza Neyle Thomas was born 8/7/1834 at Clifton, died 4/16/1910 in Milledgeville, married John Greenberry.
• Bryan Morel Thomas was born 5/8/1836 at Clifton
