Summerall of Edgefield County, South Carolina and Wilkes County, Georgia
Henry Summerall was born 1700 and resided in the Isle of Wight County, Virginia. He was married in 1719 to Sarah Barnes, a daughter of John Barnes and his wife,
Ann (Jones) Barnes. Children: Jacob (1720-1785); Barnes (ca1724-1817); James (ca1726-); Henry (ca 1728-); Joseph (1740-7/12/1821); and Lazarus.
Jacob Summerall (1720-1785) removed to Edgefield District, South Carolina before 1772. By a deed dated 7/17/1787, Edgefield County Deed Book 2, pp. 51, 54, Henry
Summerall of Wilkes County, Georgia, planter and Frances, his wife, and Ann Summerall, his mother and the widow of Jacob Summerall, deceased, administratrix to his,
Jacob Summerall's estate, to John Rainford of Horns Creek of Edgefield County, Planter, for 40 pounds, sold 100 acres of land in Edgefield County which had been granted to
Jacob Summerall on 8/14/1772. Another deed of the widow, Ann Summerall, Edgefield County Deed Book 3, pp. 74-75 dated 12/1786. Ann Sumerall of Horns Creek in Edgefield County,
widow of Jacob Summerall to John Rainsford for 50 pds., make sure and perfect title by bond, obligation, to be met by 10 January next, to a tract of land
containing one-third of 100 acres granted to her late husband, Jacob Summerall, and being her dower and one third by Commissioners. Said 100 acres was granted to
Jacob Summerall on 8/14/1772. A deed dated 10/24/1788 from Philip Johnson of Horns Creek to John Rainsford, contains a plat of the land:

place for 300 pounds, sold 300 acres being of two tracts of land, one 150 acres located on both sides of Nobles Creek of Stephens Creek, bounded Southwest by
Joseph Summerall, Northwest and Southwest by Henry Summerall at the time of the survey and was granted on 1/9/1756 unto Henry Summerall and conveyed to John
Martin by Lease and Release on 11/30 and 12/1 of 1783 and was recorded in the Registrar's Office in Book A, No. 5, pp. 1, 3, on 29 March 1784. The other tract contained 150 acres of land and was
granted on 7/12/1772 unto Jacob Summerall, deceased, who died intestate. Now, said Henry Summerall, heir of Jacob Summerall, deceased, did convey the above 150
acres to John Martin and the conveyance was recorded in Clerk's Office in Book A, page 79, in 1786.
