JOHN STRONG was b. 1675 in Virginia, m. 1697 Miss Sherwood. His sons, John Strong b. 1698, William Strong, b. 1701, George Strong b. 1703 and Nathaniel Strong b. 1704.
JOHN STRONG b. 1698 New Kent Co., Va., son of above John Strong, his birth being listed in the New Kent Co. Register, m. Frances and had sons, viz: *William b. 1730 (his issue follows under separate heading, William Strong), John b. 1739, Martin b. 1739 and Sherwood b. 1745.
JOHN STRONG b. 1739, his LWT dtd 11/6/1815 Clarke Co., Ga. Exrs were Charles and Robert Strong. He m. Miss Elizabeth Tumbill from England or Scotland, and had issue:
- Sarah Strong b. 1764, daughter of John Strong, m. John Thompson.
- Charles Strong, son of John Strong, Rev. War Soldier, b. 1/8/1764 Hanover Co., Va., d. 10/15/1848 Oglethorpe Co., Ga. m. Sarah Key Thompson. His application for pension, No. S-31994, stated that he was buried on the plantation at Cherokee Corner in Oglethorpe Co., Ga.
He m. Sarah Key Thompson (7/25/1764-5/27/1849) on 11/29/1785, the daughter of Richard Thompson of Goochland Co., Va., both are buried at Oconee Hill Cemetery, Athens, Clarke Co. Issue as follows:

- Susan Strong 10/16/1799-11/4/1875, buried Oconee Hill Cemetery m. 2/5/1818 Oglethorpe Co., Ga., Capt. Thomas Wadsworth Golden who d. 1/28/1822, aged 27 years.
- Ann (or Tabitha) Thompson Strong b. 12/1/1797 m. Ebenezer Newton 12/1/1819 Oglethorpe Co. And had son, Henry Newton.
