STORY of Jackson County, Georgia
Anthony Storey was born ca 1700 in York County, Pennsylvania, the son of
Anthony Storey of Haversham, Westmoreland, England. He married Margaret and had
issue: Mary, christened November 23, 1724 Southampton, Bucks County, Pennsylvania,
and George G. Storey, Jr., born 1725, died 1805.
George G. Storey, Sr. was born ca 1724 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, died
1805 in Fairforest, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, married Nancy Cantor, the daughter
of Jacob Cantor. Issue: Anthony (1745-1783); Henry (
June 21 1756-March 19, 1837, Greene
County, Alabama); James (June 22, 1764-Ocrober 23, 1826 Eutaw, Greene County, Alabama;
George, Jr. (died 1830 White County, Illinois); John; and Margaret.
Anthony Story, the son of George Storey, Revolutionary War Soldier from
Pennsylvania and South Carolina, and his wife, Nancy Cantor,
was born 1746 in Augusta County, Virginia, died Jackson
County, Georgia in 1799. He served in Capt. Robert Farris Co., Col. Brandon's S. C.
Regiment during the American Revolution. He married in 1769, 96th District,
South Carolina, Sarah Farris (1748-1795).
Issue:
I. Edward Madison Storey was born January 29, 1772, died May 11, 1852,
Oakhill, Coweta County, Georgia, buried Newnan. He married Margaret Thompson, the daughter of
John Thompson, Revolutionary War Soldier of South Carolina and his wife, Margaret Ann
Wallace. His LWT was dated September 2, 1851, Coweta County. He named wife as Margaret, and
children:
A. John T. Storey.
B. William F. Storey was born April 16, 1800 married Mary M., born
November 20, 1801. Issue:
1. Georgiann Storey was born October 10, 1830.
2. Edward M. Storey was born August 25, 1832.
3. William Wallis Storey was born January 18, 1839.
C. Edward M. Storey. His LWT dated September 6, 1851, Coweta County, naming his brother,
William, and wife, Dorothy Ann. Issue:
1. Alonzo Davis Storey.
2. Edward O. Storey.
3. William Remembrance Storey.
4. Mary Emma Storey.
D. Alonzo G. Storey married Cyntha A. Cunningham on February 8, 1841 in
Jackson County.
E. Nancy C. Storey married William H. Cleghorn on September 18, 1823 Jackson
County.
II. George Storey was born May 1, 1770 in Union County, South Carolina died
May 19, 1857 Union County, South Carolina.
III. Thomas Storey, was born 1771 in Union County, South Carolina, died 1820 in Jackson County. His LWT dated 10/22/1819, probated
5/5/1820, named wife, Christian, brother, Edward, and "his minor children".
IV. Henry Storey was born ca 1774 in Union County, South Carolina.
V. Robert Farris Storey was born 1780 in Spartanburg, South Carolina,
died August 24, 1834 in White County, Illinois.
