Jasper Smith was murdered 3-5-1791 in Elbert Co. According to the Southern Centinenial and Universal Gazette dated 3-5-1791. Augusta Chronicle dated 3/5/1791, "February 22, James Meredith was executed for the murder of Jasper Smith in Elbert County. Children:
