He was drafted on 2/1/1780 into the Revolutionary War as a Militiaman in Loudon County, Virginia, after the war moving to Fanquier County. Moved to Georgia about 1808 or 1809. His Revolutionary War Pension Application is filed in the Journal of the
Court of Ordinary 1820-34 in Columbia County, Georgia, and is dated 4/1/1833.
He was married to Jane Lane, a daughter of James Lane whose Will was dated 4/29/1790 Loudon County, Virginia, naming his daughter, Jane, wife of Weathers
Smith.

C. 5-6-1839. Grave located near Reidsville, N. C.
He served under Capt. Williams, Capt. William Gethel, and Gen. Gillespie. He was at the battle of Guilford Court House. He m. 4-3-1783, Martha Nance.
