Smith of Campbell, Carroll and Douglas Counties

Seaborn E. Smith was born 1828 in South Carolina. He was first found in old Campbell County, which later became Douglas & Carroll Counties. He was married to Jane Whitehead (born 1830) on 2/4/1850 in Campbell County. Seaborn farmed and later owned a dry goods business, which his son, Thomas A. C. Smith took over before 1880. Seaborn apparently died before 1880 because his widow, Jane, was found residing in Douglasville with her son-in-law, Francis M. Duncan and daughter, Nannie E. Duncan. Also in the household was Jane's daughter, Martha S. Smith, age 19, and a son, Eppie S. Smith, age 10.
