There was a Benjamin Sherrod, born ca 1715 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. The Last Will and Testament of William Sherrod dated 1778 in Edgecombe County named his wife, Unity and mentioned the children, without naming them. Presumably, Benjamin (below) was one of the children since this name is so rare in the US records.

Benjamin Sherrod was born ca 1780 and died 1836 in Emanuel County, Georgia. Wife, Henrietta. Issue:

  3. John Sherrod, born 1840 Emanuel Co.; given 300 acres and 1/2 of a lot in the 2nd district of Carroll County.
