Hancock, Jasper, Jackson & Wilkinson Counties
John Ross resided in Dorchester County, Maryland. He died in 1695, his LWT dated 13 July 1691, probated 22 April 1695. Wife, Mabella. In addition to naming his children, he also named his stepson, John Harrington, the son of his second wife, Mabella. He was married to Elizabeth, a sister. Issue:
- Reuben Ross, carpenter, resident of Prince George County, Maryland. His LWT dated 12 August 1722, probated 21 January 1722. He was married to Elizabeth, a sister of Thomas Harwood. Issue:

- John Ross, planter, died May 1723 in Dorchester County, Maryland. John Ross, Jacobite prisoner, transported to Maryland on ship Friendship ex Liverpool, 24 May 1716.[1] His LWT dated 21 January 1722, probated 25 May 1723 in Dorchester County. Issue:
- John Ross, born ca 1700, died 1764 in Kent County, Delaware.[2] Issue:
- Elizabeth Ross married John Parker.
- Margaret Ross married William Wallace.
- William Ross, born ca 1735, died after 1791 in Kent County, Delaware. Adam Stephen’s letter dated 1 March 1757, Ft. Cumberland, addressed to Captain John Dagworthy, mentioned that he sent William Ross who resided in the garrison near the fort, that William Ross and his two sons (Trotter and Slater) have resided here before the fort was built.[3] Issue:

- William Ross, born 1760/1770 in Delaware, Kent County, was administrator of the estate of James Ross on 17 November 1791.[4] He removed to Hancock County, Georgia about 1795 and was listed on the Jackson County tax records of 1802. Later, listed on the 1820 Wilkinson County Census. Issue:
- Susanna Ross, born 12 June 1788 Kent County, Delaware, died 1 March 1866 in Wilkinson County, Georgia, married Isaac Hall.
- James Ross, born 1790 in Kent County, Delaware. He was the Senator from Wilkinson County during 1851 and 1852.
- William Ross, born 11 April 1786 in Sussex County, Delaware, died 6 February 1858 in Jasper County, Georgia, buried in Monticello, Georgia. He married Elizabeth (born 10 April 1783, died 25 June 1855), the daughter of John Compton, native of Virginia.
