Reeves of York County, South Carolina
and DeKalb, Fayette & Jasper Counties



William Reeves, Sr. was listed on the South Carolina Census Records, York County, from 1790 to 1810. He was married in 1793 to Elizabeth Thompson who died in 1822. William, Sr. died 1818 in York County.[1] The inventory of his estate was dated 4 March 1818 in York County, with Edmund Aycock named as administrator. A guardian was appointed for the children on 31 January 1822. Widow, Jerusha Reeves. Issue:
  1. Allen Reeves, born 1801 in York County, South Carolina, listed on the 1850 Fayette County Census, married Lucretia Williams on 5 February 1824 in Jasper County. On 13 March 1830, Allen Reeves of Fayette County deeded to John Faulner, 202-1/2 acres of land in the 4th District of Fayette County, being Lot No. 167.
  2. Mary Ann Reeves. Was named as the oprhan of Dempsey A. Reeves in a bond dated 19 November 1840 in Fayette County wherein John W. and William Reeves are appointed her guardians.[5]
