RANDOLPH of Jackson County, Georgia
John Randolph, the son of Joseph Randolf (born ca 1747 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia) and his wife Miss Turman of Virginia, was born November 16, 1773 in Virginia, died February 4, 1855 in Jackson County, Georgia. He married on December 18, 1793 to Miss Nancy Hinton, who was born February 15, 1776. He was in Jackson County as early as 1830 (census). Issue:
I. Frances Randolph born March 12, 1795.
II. Wood Lee Randolph was born February 11, 1796, marriage license to Miss Elizabeth Oliver on June 25, 1822 Jackson County.
III. Nancy Ann Randolph was born January 7, 1798.
IV. Susan Randolph was born 1802.
V. William Randolph was born February 4, 1800.
VI. John H. Randolph was born February 10, 1804.
VII. Joshua Hammond Randolph was born August 15, 1805, died December 26, 1860, married Nancy Oliver on October 11, 1827. Nancy was born March 28, 1808 and died November 13, 1877. Joshua was elected Sheriff of Jackson County, Georgia, serving nine consecutive times. He died while in office. The LWT of Elijah Oliver dated January 7, 1852, probated June 5, 1854 in Jackson County, named his wife, Mary. Joshua H. Randolph was to act as Trustee of Sarah Miller, and Nancy Randolph. Issue:
A. John W. Randolph born June 23, 1828, died September 25, 1847. He married Miss Maryan Niblock on October 6, 1844 in Jackson County.
B. Nancy A. Randolph was born May 18, 1833.
C. Mary A. Randolph was born May 18, 1833.
D. Joshua W. Randolph was born September 29, 1835, died September 16, 1858.
E. James E. Randolph was born October 31, 1837 in Jackson County, married Elizabeth C. Thompson on February 3, 1876, the daughter of William S. Thompson of Jackson County. . James was educated in common schools of Jackson County, and Jefferson Academy. After the war, he began merchandising, engaging in farming, contracting and fertilizers, owning large tracts of real estate in Jefferson. He was the proprietor of the Randall House built directly after the war. In 1862 he was elected Sheriff of Jackson County, which office he held until the close of the war. He was mayor of Jefferson for fifteen years, and served as postmaster for nine years.

H. Susan C. Randolph was born October 9, 1843 in Jackson County.
I. Frances E. Randolph was born January 22, 1849 in Jackson County, married Wiley C. Howard on January 22, 1867. She died December 13, 1925. Their issue:
a. Nettie V. Howard was born February 16, 1868.
b. Annie R. Howard was born October 20, 1869.
c. Ida Pauline Howard was born September 2, 1873, married Thomas Fletcher Comer on June 12, 1895. They reared two daughters, Martha Howard Comer and Frances Elizabeth Comer.
d. James Frank Howard was born March 6, 1878, married Doyle Hinton on April 1914.
e. Lucy Fannie Howard was born November 19, 1888.
VIII. W. R. Randolph was born August 15, 1807.
IX. Thomas J. Randolph was born May 3, 1809 married Miss Milka White on March 7, 1833 in Jackson County.
X. R. J. Randolph was born September 15, 1811, died 1887.
X. H. T. Randolph was born May 3, 1813.
XI. Tandy K. Randolph was born January 6, 1815.
