Rainwater of Greene County

Elisha Rainwater was born 1805 South Carolina and was a wheelright by profession. He married Doneymency (born 1815 Georgia). Issue:

• James Rainwater, born 1829 Georgia.
• Ira Rainwater, born 1830 Georgia.
• William Rainwater, born 1834 Georgia, carriage trimmer.
• Marion Rainwater (male), born 1837 Georgia.
• Charles A. Rainwater, born 1851 Greene County, Georgia, wheelright, farmer, died in Atlanta in 1922. He married Cornelia Jane Veazey on 6 April 1875 in Greene County. (She died at the age of 37). They had seven children. Issue:

  1. Marshall Rainwater, of Atlanta.
  2. Paul E. Rainwater, resident of Cuba.
  3. Josephine Rainwater, of Sherman, Texas.
  4. Ellie Rainwater, born 1875 Greene County.
  5. Mary Rainwater, born 1876 Greene County.
  6. Hattie C. Rainwater, born 1878 Greene County, resident of Atlanta.
  7. Charles Veazey Rainwater, born 14 March 1882 Greene County. Removed to Atlanta with his parents about 1892, attending the Edgewood Avenue school, and Boys High School. He was employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 1902.
