Perkins of Lincoln County

Hardin C. Perkins was born ca 1811 in North Carolina and died ca 1887 in Henderson County, Texas. He was buried in an unmarked grae in the Fincastle cemetery. Hardin and Catherine removed from North Carolina ca 1834 or 1835 and went to Habersham County, Georgia where they resided between 1838 and 1840. They settled in Dahlonega, Georgia (Lumpkin County) but removed from there ca 1853, going first to Tennessee, then to Texas. Hardin married his first wife, Catherine (Shields?) ca 1831 in North Carolina and they had at least twelve children from this marriage. Catherine died during the early 1860s and was probably buried in an unmarked grave in the Gann Cemetery in Angelina County, Texas. Issue of first marriage:

Mary A. Perkins, born 30 June 1833 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She married Eli Green on 1 Jul 1854 in Rusk County, Texas.
Martha Perkins was born ca 1834 in Lincoln County, North Carolina and married W. A. Crumpler on 21 Dec 1854 in Rusk County, Texas.
William H. Perkins was born 28 Oct 1836 in Georgia (probably Habersham County), married Mary Eliza Crumpler on 31 May 1855 in Smith County, Texas.
Amanda Perkins, born ca 1837 in Habersham County, Georgia, married Hardy or Hardin Carpenter on 27 Jan 1855 in Rusk County, Texas.
John Perkins was born ca 1838 in Habersham County, Georgia, resided in Angelina County, Texas.
Washington Perkins was born ca 1840 in Dahlonega, Georgia, died as a teenager, buried in an unmarked grave in the Gann Cemetery, Angelina County, Texas.
Elizabeth Perkins was born 27 May 1841 in Dahlonega, Georgia, married Thomas Price Allen.
Sarah C. Perkins was born ca 1842 in Dahlonega, Georgia, married J. R. L. Laymance on 30 Jul 1865 and second to William Brown on 16 Oct 1872 in Henderson County, Texas.
James K. Polk Perkins was born ca 1844 in Dahlonega, Georgia, married Sophia Ann Carmichael on 10 Feb 1869 in Henderson County, Texas. He married second to Lillie Greer in 1875 in Smith County, Texas.
Andrew Perkins was born ca 1845 in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Henry Perkins was born ca 1848 in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Joseph Edward Perkins was born ca 1850 in Dahlonega, Georgia, died 10 Oct 1899 in Ardmore, Indian Territory, later resided in Hill County, Texas.
Hardin married second, Mrs. Margaret M. Franks Hopkins in Henderson County, Texas on 4 Aug 1866 and had by her three children, viz:

Lewis Perkins was born 6 April 1869 in Fincastle, Texas, married Hollie Irene Davis on 19 June 1910 in Aspermont, Texas.
Sharp Perkins was born 20 Mar 1871 in Fincastle, Texas, married Lizzie Bell Wood and married second Mrfs. Mary Jane Driver Wood.
Artie Lesie Perkins was born 20 Mar 1871 in Fincastle, Texas, married Thomas Russell Weaver.
