Perkins of Warren County
Peter Perkins of Warren Co. was granted 500 acres of land in St. Paul's Parish (Richmond Co.) in 1770; in 1788 he was granted 200 acres in Wilkes Co.; and in 1784 he was granted 287 acres in Washington Co.
Columbia Co. Deed 1/21/1801, Peter Perkins of Warren Co. To Amos Mauldin for $500,500 acres on Upton Creek, originally granted to Peter Perkins by Sir James Wright on 11/6/1770.
Columbia Co. Deed 7/2/1797, Peter Perkins and his wife, Sarah, of Wilkes Co. to Peter Overby for 50 pds., Lot in Wrightsboro, Ga., which was originally granted Peter Perkins in 1770.
Warren Co. Deed Book B, page 214-215, Peter Perkins, late of Warren Co. made his LWT dated 3/6/1800 with John Torrence and John Baker as executors, sold to John Darden, the highest bidder, land on Williams Creek, 196 acres. Warren Co. Deed Book B, page 215-216, Dred Wilder of Wilkes Co. to Peter Perkins 196 acres in Wilkes Co., 5/14/1787.
Peter Perkins was listed on the 1792-1794 Wilkes Co. Tax Digest, 1 poll, 200 acres, Wilkes Co. Peter was b. ca 1740, his LWT dated 3/26/1801 in Warren Co., probated 2/16/1803. His wife, Sarah, died in 1819, when Jethro Darden was appointed administrator of her estate. Warren Co. Book A, page 26, Administrator's Bonds (1811-1835). Issue:
1. John Perkins. In 1797 he owned land on Rocky Comfort Creek in Warren Co. Warren Co. Deed Book B, page 590, 2/7/1807, Abner Flewellin of Baldwin Co. deeded to Sarah Posey 200 acres of land originally granted to John perkins on 2/9/1790/ Warren Co. Deed Book A, page 615-616, John Perkins of Hancock Co. deeded Isham Boman of Warren Co. for 30 pds., 100 acres on Rocky Comfort Creek 12/12/1796.
2. Peter Perkins. Warren Co. Deed Book B, page 120-121, Peter Perkins of Warren Co., for $100 paid by William White, deeded one negro girl, 11/8/1802.
3. Jenny Perkins m. Mr. Clowers.
4. Abigail Perkins m. Mr. Kidd.
