Park of South Carolina and Georgia
Arthur Park came to America in 1720 from Ballylagby, County Donegal, Ireland, bringing with him his wife, Mary and son, Joseph. They first settled in Parkesburg, West Chester County, Pennsylvania, but after the Revolutionary War removed to Union County, South Carolina. Issue:
Joseph Park, Lieutenant-Colonel, was born ca 1747/1748 in Ballylagby, Ireland and was married to Mary McClellan. He was commissioned a Lieutenant Colonel by the Pennsylvania House of Delegates. Issue:
- John Park 1726-7/23/1780, served as a Lieutenant-Colonel in Chester County, Pennsylvania and Union County, South Carolina. He was wounded during the Revolutionary at the Battle of Block House, New Jersey on 7/19/1780. He was married to Ann Noblett on 10/11/1752. Issue:
- William Park, born 3/12/1777 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, married Margaret Campbell on 10/3/1798, a daughter of Colonel Campbell of the Continental Army; removed to Clarke County, Georgia. Issue:
- John Park 1/24/1800-9/8/1849, married 1st Sarah Mitchell of Athens on 10/15/1818; 2d, Sarah Truly Robertson on 10/25/1827 of Watkinsville, Georgia. Issue by 2d marriage:

2-William Park 4/7/1830-2/24/1901, married Mary Hodnett.
3-John Wesley Park, born 2/6/1832,, married 1st, Sallie White, 2d, Sallie C. Bull. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia; a Major in the Confederate Army; Attorney and President of the Georgia Bar Association.
4-James Fletcher Park, born 5/17/1834, Captain in the Confederate Army, graduate of the University of Georgia. He married Emma Bailey.
5-Howard Pope Park, born 9/6/1836, died 1896 in Mt. Meigs, Alabama, graduate of Emory College, married Ola Robertson.
6-Victoria Volumnia Park, born 2/16/1842, married H. Polk Blalock of Greenville, Georgia.
7-Robert Emory Park, born 1/13/1845 in Troup County, Georgia, married 1st, Stella Swanson on 12/1870; 2d, Ella Holt 12/1874. Issue: William Holt Park and Ella Henrietta Park, both born in Macon, Georgia.
8-Lemuel Madison Park, born 11/16/1848; served in the Civil War as the Clerk and Sergeant of Major Henry Wirz of the famous Andersonville Prison scandals. He married 1st, Adelaide Bigham and 2d, Louise Harris.
