Dyonisius Oliver was born 1735 Petersburg, Virginia, died 1808 Elbert Co., Ga.,married (1758) Mary Ann Winfrey. His grave is marked at the Stinchcomb MethodistChurch in Elbert County, as follows: "Dyonisius Oliver, Capt., of Privateer, American RevolutionaryWar; Dyonisius Oliver, born 1735in Petersburg, Virginia, died 1808 in Elbert County, was the founder of Petersburg,Georgia."

John Greenwood and George Greenwood, both of Elbert Co., executors ofthe last will and testament of John Greenwood, Senr., deceased, to Alexander Gordon of Oglethorpe Co. for $500, 100 acres of land, being part of 400 acres granted to Dionisious Olliver on Clouds Creek, waters of Broad River in Oglethorpe Co.
Dionysius Oliver ran a ferry on the Broad and Savannah Rivers. He owned extensive lots inPetersburg, Georgia (dead town) which was located on the Broad River in Elbert County, and eventually soldthe ferry. Some of his land may have actually been in Edgefield Co., S. C., as his LWTwas probated there in 1810, (dated 17 Sept 1809, probated 18 May 1810) naming his wife, Polly, and children. He also named a brother-in-law,Dionysius Oliver of Wilkes County.

IV. Peter Oliver, born 1761. In 1792, Peter Oliver declared his taxes in Wilkes Co., 3 polls, 4slaves, 600 acres in Wilkes Co. Wilkes Co. Minutes of the Inferior Court, 1798-1811, p. 261: 11 Mar 1808, the Petition of Shaler Hillyer to establish a ferry at the plantation where he liveson the Broad River to land on the opposite side, on the plantation of Peter Oliver. His graveis marked at Sinchcomb Methodist Church, Elbert County, as follows: "Peter Oliver, Ga. Capt.Bell's Dist. Rev. War, born 1761, died 1826."
V. John Oliver, born 1765, died 1816. He lived in Wilkes Co. He married (1st) Frances Thompson (2nd) Susan Watkins. His wife, Betsy Oliver, drew in the1803 Wilkes Co. Land Lottery, widow, 2 draws. His LWT dated 11 Jul 1796, probated 18 Aug 1796Wilkes Co. named wife, Betsy and children, and his brother, Sionysius Oliver.

VI. Dyonisius Oliver, Jr., was born 1767, died 1810 at his residence 6 miles fromEdgefield, South Carolina. He married Frances. Dionysius Oliver, established familymembers in his LWT in Edgefield Co., S. C., probated 2 Oct 1815, wherein he named his nephew:Dyonisius, the son of Peter Oliver, and Berrin Oliver, a son of Dyonisius Oliver. Othermembers of the family established by this LWT is another brother, John Oliver, and asister, Jane Ragsdale. This Dyonisius lived near Cedar Creek.
VII. Martha Oliver married Thomas Hancock of Edgefield County, South Carolina.
VIII. Eleanor Oliver married Drury Thompson.
