Nunnalee of Virginia; Elbert & Wilkes Counties

William Womack Nunnelee, born 1730/1740 in Chesterfield County, Virginia, came to Georgia by 1787, and died in Elbert County in 1806. He married Ann, who apparently predeceased him. Issue:[1]

• James Franklin Nunnelee, born 3 January 1760 in Virginia, died 12 February 1838 in Elbert County. He was married to Keziah, before 1791. Issue:
  1. Willis Nunnelee, married on 5 March 1812 in Wilkes County, Martha Bentley, the daughter of Jeremiah Bentley.
  2. Howell Nunnelee, appeared on 1815 Elbert Tax Digest.
  3. Osman Nunnelee, married on 3 November 1817 in Wilkes County, Adda Bentley, the daughter of Jeremiah Bentley.
  4. Simon Nunnelee, married on 24 May 1817, Martha Ferrell, in Elbert County.
  5. Charlotte C. Nunnelee, married on 23 January 1812, William A. Bentley in Elbert County, the son of Jeremiah Bentley.
  6. Sarah Nunnelee, married on 7 December 1819, William Bolton, in Elbert County.
• Elizabeth Nunnellee, married Colonel Robert Middleton (born 1755 in Chesterfield County, Virginia)
• Nancy Nunnelee, married Thomas Burton; listed on the 1850 Elbert County Census.
• Priscilla Nunnelee, married William Hatch.
• Walter Nunnelee, married Susannah Hubbard, the daughter of John Hubbard (died 1800 Elbert County). Walter died ca 1831, apparently in Harris County. Issue:

1. John Nunnelee, born 1790/1795, married on 9 January 1817, Martha Thompson in Elbert County.
2. Ann F. Nunnelee, born 1796, married December 1818, John Hubbard in Elbert County. Issue:

   1. J. Hubbard, born 22 September 1827 in Elbert County.
   2. Joseph Hubbard, born 1829 in Elbert County.
   3. William S. Hubbard, born 1829 in Elbert County.

3. Benjamin F. Nunnelee, born. ca. 1800, married 29 April 1828, Lucinda Darden, in Taliaferro County, the daughter of William Darden. They removed to Harris County after 1830; left Harris County before 1850.
