Morton of Jones County



Oliver H. Morton was born 1763 in Boston, Massachusetts. He died 1848 in Clinton, Georgia. He was a soldier onboard the brigantine Independence which was commanded by Colonel Simeon Sampson in 1776-1777. Later, he joined the Militia at Plymouth, Massachusetts under Capt. Partridge. He married Sarah Everette of Ashe County, North Carolina. His LWT dated 14 January 1846, probated 3 February 1848, Jones County. Revolutionary War Soldier. He married (2) Mrs. Malinda Lary on 28 September 1831 in Jones County. Issue:
