Moore of Floyd and Cobb Counties

John Moore was born 1813 in North Carolina. Wife, Harriett, born 1813 in North Carolina. They removed to Floyd County where they were found on the 1860 Census. Issue:

1. William Moore, born 1842 in North Carolina.
2. Harriet Moore, born 1844 in North Carolina.
3. Britten Moore, born 1847 in North Carolina.
4. John Moore, born 1849 in Georgia.
5. Jacob Moore, born 1851 in Floyd County.
   
   

   "Jake Moore is Laid to Rest in Smyrna. Mr. J. C. Moore, late chief inspector of prisons, died Thursday night at his home in Smyrna, after a brief illness of pneumonia. He was born 1851, in Floyd County and spent all of his life in Georgia. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. John L. Pollock, Mrs. C. A. Quarles and Mrs. L. C. Gilbert; four brothers, John D., R. H., E. P. and T. B. Moore, and two sisters, Mrs. T. J. Davis and Mrs. W. P. McLeod." The Marietta Journal and Courier dated 19 January 1912.
