Mordecai Moore, b. 28 June 1663 Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, his LWT dated 9/2/1713, probated 10/29/1721, "Practitioner in Physick and Chyrugery." To Deborah, Mary and Elizabeth, he left 400 pds. at ages of 21 or marriage. To kinsman, Mary Coleman and her heirs, he left plantation "Arran" in Prince George Co. Maryland. To Mordica, the son of Charles Burges; the children of his son-in-law, Charles Burges, viz: Francis Hanslop, Elizabeth Burgess and to William, Ursula, Mordica, Charles and Benjamin Burgess, five pds. To dau. in law, Susannah Mitchell and her children, Burges, Mordica, John and Henrietta Mitchell. To Mordecai Burgess, 200 acres called "Fortune". To John, the son of his dau., Susannah Mitchell, 100 acres, being part of "Fortune". Named son, Richard. Wife, Deborah.

The first wife of Mordecai Moore was Ursula Burgess, widow, her LWT dated 11/11/1700, probated 6/30/1702, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland., naming her dau., Susannah Mitchell, to whom she bequeathed 300 acres known as "Greenwood." Her sons, Benjamin and Charles Burgess; Her husband, Mordecai Moore, to sell 500 acres "Westphalia" and to buy certain personalty to be delivered to Benjamin and Charles Burgess and her dau., Susannah Mitchell, and son, Richard Moore; also to Alice Withers, personalty. From book, Across the Years in Prince George County by Effie Gwynn Bowie, P. 689:
"8/10/1704, Whereas, George Yate, late of said county and his wife, Mary, in an indenture of grant and sale of said tract of land of 11/23/1687'; did for divers considerations, grant, sell and confirm to Ursula Burgess, then widow and since wife to said Mordecai Moore, now deceased [Ursula now deceased], all that tract or parcel of land in Westphalia, lying in the then Calvert County, now Prince George County, Maryland, i on ye west side of m..in branch of Dividing Creek of Patuxent.. .500 acres.j To hold to said Ursula Burgess.. .and whereas, afterwards the 17th of November 1700, ye said Ursula Burgess...and whereas, the wife of Mordecai Moore, did make her Last Will and Testam.,nt in which she .. devised that said Mordecai Moore might dispose of.. .Westphalia... Now this testifies that Mordecai Moore, in consideration of ti1e affection which he bears towards his son-in-law [stepson], Charles Burgess, the natural son of said Ursula, for 150 pounds sterling conveys to Charles Burgess."
In LWT of Mordecai Moore's stepson, William Burgess, dated 6/28/1698, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland., Ursula Mooore is given his plantation; stepbrother, Richard Mooore, is given land at Beard's Creek; his brothers, Benjamtn and Charles Burgess are mentioned as well as sisters children, i.e, Jane, Charles, Eltza and William Sewell. Mordecat Moore was bequeathed personal in the LWT of Nathaniel Ashcom, Calvert Co., Maryland dated 3/25/1637.. and from the LWT of John Smallwood, Charles City Co., Maryland., dated 11/6/1695, probated 1/3/1695, Mordecai Moore of Anne Arundel Co. and his heirs are granted "the entire estate". Also in LWT of Robert Philips of Anne Arundel Co. Maryland. dated 4/17/1686, probated 8/28/1699, Morrdecai Moore is granted personalty. It appears that Mordecat Moore was a son of Richard Moore who died in Kent Co., Maryland. in 1676, his LWT dated 4/4/1676, probated 5/5/1676, mentioning wife, and two minor children, names not given. This Richard Moore was transported I. Richard Moore, Planter, his LWT dated 3/10/1715, probated 3/29/1717, Queen Anne Co., Maryland., naming wife, Edith, "the dwelling place containing 200 acres, known as "Confusion" during her widowhood, then to be divided between his three sons." Childrtn: Norest, Richard, Charles, Juliana, Rebecca and Hannah. The LWT of William Winlock, Planter, Kent Island, Queen Anne Co., Maryland. dated 1/1/1715, probated 3/10/1715, mentions cousin, Richard Moore, Jr. and niece, Sarah Moore. The residue of his estate to be given to the three children of Richard Moore, equally. Issue follows:

Richard Moore, b. 1688 Maryland, his LWT probated New Castle Co., Delaware, headed "Ann Arundel County, Maryland", dated 4/6/1734, probated 9/3/1734, naming wife, Margaret, and children: Samuel, Mordecai, Richard, Thomas and Charles. They all lived New Castle Co, Delaware in 1790. Issue of Richard follows:

Thomas Moore who d. Kent Co., Delaware in 1796, from Liber N, P. 151, with Sarah, admx of his estate. Page 190 lists William Knotts and Aquila Knotts, admx. Register of Wills, heirs named as John, Sam~el and Isaac. His son,

Isaac Moore, Sr., b. ca 1750/60 Kent Co., Delaware, d. 8/1840 Henry Co., Ga. Listed 1790 Kent Co." Delaware Census, Murderkill One Hundred. From 1813-1816 he was Justice of Peace, Greene Co., Ga. 1/13/1798, Wi11tam Moore, admr of est. of Thomas Stratten, Kent Co., Delaware, settled by Isaac Moore. Listed 1820 Greene Co., Ga. Census; 1830 Henry Co. His LWT dated 1840 Henry Co. Ga. names wife, Franky. Issue as follows:

  2. John Moore, b. 2/3/1776, d. 1815 Jasper Co. Ga. 1816 Ltrs. Adm. issued to minors d' John Moore, i.e., Lucinda, Luramyand Jane. The Bible of John Moore said Martl"1a, his wife, died 2/1/1841.
