Moody of Paulding County
The Moody family of Paulding County come from a long line of Moody’s from Charles City
County,
Virginia, through North Carolina, thence to Georgia.
Thomas
Moody died 1656 in Weyanoke Parish, Charles City County, Virginia where his death was
recorded on 3 October (Register). He married Ann Lawrence, a daughter of
William Lawrence of Charles City County, Virginia. They had two known sons, viz:
I. Samuel Moody, was born 1652 in Weyanoke Parish, Charles City County, Virginia, died after 1704.
II. Robert Moody, was born 1654 in Weyanoke
Parish, Charles City County, Virginia. He had a son, viz:

buried in the White Oak Cemetery), a daughter of Mrs. Deborah Chapman. After Thomas died, Retency
and her children moved in with John S. Moody (1870 Paulding County Census. Issue:
