Thomas Mimms, Jr. was born 4/24/1681 in Lancaster, Virginia, christened in St. Peters Parish, New Kent County, died 1719 in New Kent County. His marriage was recorded in the parish on 2/10/1609 to Anne Nelly Martin. Children:

David Mims, son of Thomas, Jr. (above), married Agnes Weldy (died 5/1/1777 in Goochland COunty, Virginia) in 1721. Children: Edith, Mary, Shadrach, Elizabeth, Guideon (1722-1809), Drury (1730-11/1818), Agnes, Susannah, Judith,David, Jr. (3/11/1748-11/1786).
Drury Mims, son of David (above), was born 1730 in Virginia and died November 1818 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He was married to Lydia Jones (died 8/23/1821 in Edgefield County), a daughter of Francis Jones and his wife, Mary (Ridley) Jones. One record states that he married first Anne Ridgeway on 4/2/1750 in Cumberland County, Virginia. The family was in Edgefield County by 1787, according to the following deed -
Edgefield County Deed Book 2, pp. 34, 38. 8/1/1787. Drury Mims and wife, Lydia of Edgefield County, planters, to Jenkins Harris for 50 pounds, one half acre, being part of 44 acres in which the court house of Edgefield County is appointed to be set, granted to David Burks on 9/5/1785 and conveyed 6/29/1787 to Drury Mims.
Edgefield County Deed Book 2, pp. 69, 72. 12/28/1787. Drury Mims and wife, Lydia, of Edgefield County, South Carolina, planters, to Moses Harris of the same place for 50 pounds, sold 1/2 an acre of land, being part of 44 acres granted to David Burks on 9/5/1785 and conveyed by said Burks by Lease and Release on 29th and 13th days of June 1787 to Drury Mimms, bounded by John Harris, a lot of 2 acres allotted for the public goal and court house of Edgefield County, and Jenkin Harris.
Edgefield County Deed Book 4, pp. 180, 184. 2/18/1790. John Hammond and Elizabeth, his wife of Edgefield County to Drury Mims of same place for 5 pounds, two lots, No. 6 and 7, each containing 65 2/3rd feet on the front of Union Street and 155 feet deep in the Town of Fallmouth land out on land of the said John Hammond near a little village called Campbellton.
Edgefield County Deed Book 6, pp. 295-306. 1/25/1792. Drury Sims and wife, Lidia, Planter of Edgefield County to Arthur Simkins, Esq. of same place for 300 pounds, sold 43 acres of land on Beaverdam Creek of Stephens Creek of the Savannah River, bounded South on land formerly belonging to John harris, but now held by Rachel Oliver. Said 43 acres being part of 44 acre grant to David Burks on 9/5/1785 which was conveyed by him and his wife, Jane, to Drury Mims on 6/29/1787, excepr two half acre lots which was conveyed to Moses Harris and Jenkins Harris.
Drury Mims owned the land in downtown Edgefield where the court house now stands part of which must have been situated on Beaverdam Creek.
