McRee of Ireland and North Carolina

WILLIAM McREE 1714-1789 m. Dinab (1717-1798), both buried at Steel Creek Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, N. C. They were emigrants to North Carolina from County Down, Ireland, ca 1740. Children:

2. ROBERT McREE m.. Margaret Polk, the dau. of William Polk, and lived in Mecklenburg Co., N. C. Margaret was the great aunt of President James K. Polk, 11th U.. S. President.

5. RICHARD McREE, lived Wilkes Co., Ga. ca 1758.
6. WILLIAM McREE a. 2nd, Jane Craighead, granddau. of Rev. Alexander Craighead.
