Maddox of Clarke, Putnam and Harris Counties
Joseph Maddox married Jane. His LWT dated 20 October 1835, probated 5 September 1836, Clarke County, Book B, p. 194, named children.

- Notley T. C. Maddox, married Permelia Ann (or Pamelia) Coppage on 16 January 1831 in Putnam County. They removed from Putnam County to Harris County, Georgia., about 1837, near the village of Whitesville. Issue:
- John Shadrack Maddox was born 27 August 1835 in Putnam County, Georgia, died 3 October 1915. He married Nancy Ann Johnson on
13 November 1860. Nancy, the daughter of Dr. William Goza Johnson and his wife, Elizabeth Mitchell of Warren
County, Georgia, was born 22 June 1841 in Warren County, Georgia, and died 8 August 1915.
He enlisted in Company D, 3rd Georgia Calvary, and served throughout the war as a sergeant. The
family removed to St. Clair County, Alabama in 1866, near Easonville, where he owned 500 acres of land located on the
north bank of the Coosa River. He was twice elected to the Alabama Legislature as a representative from St. Clair
County. Issue:

2. Frances Rebecca Maddox was born 29 February 1868 in Harris County, Georgia.
3. William Notley Maddox was born 19 March 1870, St. Clair County, Alabama.
4. Emily Smith Maddox was born 12 August 1871, St. Clair County, Alabama.
5. John Daniel Maddox was born 17 March 1873, St. Clair County, Alabama.
6. Fredonia Raiford Maddox was born 6 December 1874, St. Clair County, Alabama.
7. Rosser Angalet Maddox was born 18 March 1877, St. Clair County, Alabama.
8. David Jeremiah Maddox was born 11 September 1878, St. Clair County, Alabama.
9. Henry Johnson Maddox was born 30 May 1800, St. Clair County, Alabama.
