Luckett of Maryland and Wilkes County, Georgia

The Luckett family emigrated from England to Charles County, Maryland during the late 1600s. Samuel Luckett died in Port Tobacco Parish on 18 July 1705. He was married to Elizabeth Hussey, born 1667 in Charles County, Maryland, died ca 1748, a daughter of Thomas Hussey and his wife, Johanna (Porter) Hussey. Known issue:

• Samuel Luckett, born 10 October 1685 Charles County, Maryland.
• Thomas Luckett, born 12 August 1688 in Charles County, Maryland, died ca 1734.
• Ignatius Luckett, born 30 January 1689 in Charles County, Maryland, died 29 March 1735, same parish.
• Thomas Luckett, born ca 1693 in Charles County, died 1767, same place. He was married in 1717 to Elizabeth Price, a daughter of Robert Price and his wife, Juliana (Goodrick) Price. Issue:

1. Anne Luckett.
2. William Rhody Luckett, married Mary Anne Semmes, a daughter of Marmaduke Semmes and his wife, Henrietta (Jenkins) Semmes, also of Charles County, Maryland. Issue:

   1. Eleanor Luckett, born 1763 Charles County, Maryland.
   2. Joseph Luckett, born 17 October 1765 in Charles County, Maryland.
   3. William Rhody Luckett, born 18 June 1774 in Charles County, Maryland, died 18 September 1831 in Warren County, buried in the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Locust Grove, Georgia (now in Taliaferro County.)
   4. Henrietta Luckett, born 6 November 1768 in Charles County, Maryland, died 1797.
   5. Thomas Hussey Luckett, born 25 November 1771 in Charles County, Maryland, died 5 October 1827 in Warren County, buried in the Cemetery of the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Locust Grove, Georgia (now in Taliaferro County). He married Elizabeth Semmes on 22 June 1794 in Warren County, Georgia. Elizabeth also buried in the same catholic churchyard, "departed this life November 10th 1838, aged 66 years."

   1. John Luckett, born 1794 in Wilkes County, Georgia, died 9 April 1797, buried in Mt. Pomono Cemetery, Warren County.
   2. Oliver Augustin Luckett, born 25 December 1795 in Wilkes County, died 3 September 1797, buried St. John's Bpatist Church, Chatham County.
   3. Joseph W. Luckett, born 1796 in Wilkes County, Georgia, died 15 March 1828, buried in same churchyard as his father.
   4. Henrietta Elizabeth Luckett, born 17 March 1797 in Wilkes County, died 3 September 1797, buried in St. John's Baptist Church, Chathan County, Georgia.
   5. Maria Antionette Luckett, born 1798 in Wilkes County, died 7 October 1866 in Sulphur Springs, Madison County, Mississippi. Christened in Warren County on 16 November 1798, in the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
   6. Mary Ann Luckett, born 9 April 1800 in Wilkes County, died 2 December 1856, buried in Sulphur Springs, Madison County, Mississippi.
   7. Sylvester V. Luckett died ca 1863.
   8. Elizabeth Teresa died 1 March 1858, buried Locust Grove Cemetery, Taliaferro County, Georgia.

   m. George G. Luckett, born 1810 in Wilkes County, Georgia, died 28 March 1890 in Sulphur Springs, Madison County, Mississippi.
