Langford Sanford Leach, the son of James Leach of Virginia, was born 1809 in Abbeville County, South Carolina and died 31 Jan 1892 at Limecreek District, Spalding County, Georgia, buried in the Fairview Church Cemetery, Griffin, Georgia. He came to Pike County, Georgia between 1820 and 1833. Langford was married to Milla (Milly) Manard (born 1815 in North Carolina) on 14 Feb 1833 in Pike County, Georgia. Issue:
- Nancy Caroline Leach, married Reuben M. Stewart on 21 April 1853 in Pike County; removed to Wedowee, Alabama, Randolph County, about 1870; in 1880 they removed to DeKalb County, Alabama where they died. Had 8 children.
- Phebe J. C. Leach, born 1839 in Pike County, Georgia.
- Mary E. Leach, born 1840 in Pike County, Georgia, married (1) Nichols (2) S. A. Putnam, buried in Fairview Cemetery.
- Emily F. Leach, born 1842 in Pike County.
- Beverly Peyton Leach (male), born May 1848, married Fanny R. in 1873.
- Margaret C. Leach, born 1849 in Pike County.
- William E. L. Leach, born 1854 in Spalding County, married Rosa Ann. In 1892 they were deceased; left three children under the age of 14 years. Beverly P. Leach was appointed their guardian in May 1892. Issue: Mattie, Emma, Willie.
- James Larkin, born 1856 in Spalding County.

On Saturday night last, Rev. Sanford Leach died at his home in Lime Creek District, near Griffin, of cancer on his face, after a lingering illness. The deceased was one of Spalding County's oldest and respected citizens. For several years he has been a faithful minister of the Baptist Church.
