He was married 1770 in New Jersey to Mary Martinangel (born 16 December 1745, died 1812 in South Carolina), a daughter of Phillip Martinangel and his wife, Mary (Foster) Martinangel. Issue: A. Francis Hopkins, born 1772 in New Jersey, died 1821 in McIntosh County, buried in the Hopkins Cemetery in McIntosh County. He was married 1794 in McIntosh County, Georgia to Rebecca Sayre (born 1776, died 3 August 1850), a daughter of Jeremiah Sayre and his wife, Elizabeth Tripp (Green) Sayre. Rebecca was buried in the Hopkins Cemetery, on Belleville Road, near Darien, Georgia. Bluffton was a locality of rich plantations which flourished after the Revolutionary War. Issue:
