Goolsby of Oglethorpe County
John Tarrington Goolsby was born ca 1735 and died 1808 in Oglethorpe County. He was probably a son of Samuel Goolsby of Amherst County, Virginia. Wife: Elizabeth. LWT of JohnN T. Goolsby dated 2 November 1805,, probated 14 January 1808 in Oglethorpe Co. bequeathing Negroes to his children. Known issue:
- Daniel Goolsby, born 1765, died before 1805.
- Nancy Goolsby, born 1768, married Mr. Marr, died before 1805.
- William Goolsby, born 1770 married Martha (Patsey) Matthews 15 February 1796 in Oglethorpe County.
- Samuel Goolsby, born 1774 married Judith Stephens 17 June 1799 in Oglethorpe County.
- Sally Goolsby, born 1776.
Elizabeth Goolsby, born 1780, married Mr. Hay. - John Goolsby.

James Goolsby, Jr. and Sarah, his wife, of Oglethorpe County to Burges Goolsby of Laurens County, South Carolina for 30 pds. land on Millstone Creek in Oglethorpe Co. beginning at post oak corner near Daniel Saffold's and Joseph East's corner, it being part of a land grant to James Goolsby on 24 May 1786 of 140 acres.
