George Goforth was born 1565 in Knedlington, Yorkshire, England where he died in 1663. He had five known children: [1]Margaret, chr. 2 February 1600 in Howden, Yorkshire, England; Robert, chr. 7 August 1602 in Howden; John, chr. 24 January 1607 in Howden; Miles, chr. 16 March 1608 in Howden, died 1674 in Howden Parish; and George, chr. 3 March 1611 in Howden.

Miles Goforth, chr. 16 March 1608 in Howden, Knedlington, Yorkshire, England, died 1674, same parish. He was married in 1630 to Mary (1608- ). Known issue: William (1631-1678) and Elizabeth (born 1633).

William Goforth, Sr., son of Miles, was born 1631 in Yorkshire, died 1678 in Burlington, New Jersey. He married 11 July 1662 in Hull, Yorkshire, England at a Quaker Meeting, Miss Anne Skipwith (ca 1642-1742/3), the youngest child of Willoughby Skipwith of Yorkshire, England. William Goforth died in Burlington, New Jersey and his wife died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Issue: Zachariah and William, Jr. (born 1665 in Yorkshire). Known issue: George Goforth (1663-1732); William Goforth (1665-1748); John Goforth (1667-1750, died New Castle, Delaware); Miles Goforth (1673-1734); and Zachariah Goforth (1675-1736); and Thomas Goforth (born 1677).

Zachariah Goforth, Sr., son of William Goforth, Sr., was born 1675 in Yorkshire England, died 1736 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was married in 1694 in Philadelphia to Ann Morgan (1675 - ). Known issue: Willoughby Goforth (born 1695 in Philadelphia); George Goforth (born 1697 in Philadelphia, died 1732 in Kent County, Delaware); and Zachariah Goforth (born 1700 in Philadelphia, died 2 February 1752).

George Goforth, born 1697 in Philadelphia, died 1732 in Kent County, Delaware, married in 1715, Mary Brown. Known issue: George Goforth (1716-1800 Kent County, Delaware); Zachariah Goforth (1720-1779 Kent County, Delaware); Miles Goforth (1725-4 July 1793 Kent County, Delaware); Thomas Goforth (1735 Kent, Delaware, died 1793 Leeds Point, Cumberland County, New Jersey); Rachel Goforth (born 1737 Kent, Delaware).

Miles Goforth, son of George Goforth, born 1725, died 4 July 1793 in Kent County, Delaware). He was a Revolutionary War Soldier. Mary Goforth, widow, was a resident of Rutherford County, North Carolina 1793. Issue:
