Fincher of Pennsylvania, North Carolina; Forsyth & Whitfield Counties, Georgia

The Fincher family seat was in London Grove, Chester County, Pennsylvania. John Fincher, the son of Francis Fincher and his wife, Mary (Achelly) Fincher, was christened in Wolverley Parish, Worcester, England on 15 May 1675 and died 1747 in London Grove. John married Martha Taylor in 1699, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Issue:

• Johnathon Fincher, 1704 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, died 1757 in Orange County, North Carolina. He was married on 30 May 1731 in Abington, Chester County, Pennsylvania to Jane Busby (born 1704), the daughter of Richard Busby and his wife, Hannah (French) Busby. Issue:

  4. Richard Fincher, born 1735 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, died 1810/1815 in Greenville, South Carolina. He was married on 2 July 1772 in Guilford County, North Carolina to Nancy Ann Forbes, a daughter of William Forbes. Issue:

     1. Jesse Fincher, born 16 March 1775 in North Carolina, died 22 May 1861 in Forsyth County, Georgia, buried in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery near Cumming, Georgia. He was married in 1772 in Nancy Elizabeth Fowler (died before 1850). Jesse was widowed in 1850 Forsyth County. Known Issue:

        1. Elias Fincher, born 24 December 1800 in North Carolina, died 12 December 1881 in Whitfield County, Georgia, buried in the Fincher-Richards Cemetery in Dalton. Farmer. Wife, Malissa, born 1814 in Georgia. They were residents of Finchers District, Whitfield County, in 1880.
