James Evans died in Onslow County before the American Revolution in 1774, leaving a Last Will and Testament. He named his wife, Sarah, and children, viz: Zaccheus, David, James, Samuel, John, Frances, Mary and Jeremiah.
Samuel Evans was born 1763/1764 in Onslow County, North Carolina where he enlisted in the Revolutionary War. He was a nephew of the John Evans who resided in Onslow County where he died in 1781, leaving a Last Will and Testament naming his wife, Bethelia, and nephews, viz: David, Zaccheus, Samuel and John Evans.
