ETHERIDGE of Monroe County, Georgia

Elijah Etheridge was born 1773 in North Carolina, probably Halifax County. He died 1855 in Monroe County, his LWT dated 11/8/1855, probated 12/3/1855. His wife was Gladys, born 1800, a sister of Benjamin Robinson, whom he mentioned as his brother-in-law in his will. Issue:

• Elijah Nathaniel Etheridge b. 1829, married Emily Angeline Chambliss, the daughter of John M. Chambliss and his wife Elizabeth (Jordan) Chambliss of Monroe County. His LWT dated 12/12/1858, probated 1/10/1859 names wife, children, and a brother-in-law, Zachariah Chambliss. Issue:
  1. Mary Frances Etheridge, born 1855.
  2. Elijah Nathaniel Etheridge, born 1857.
  3. Willie Etheridge, born 1858.
