Benjamin Elsberry Sr. was born 1720 at Bohemia Manor in Cecil County, Maryland and died 1792 in Wilkes County, Georgia. Issue: Benjamin Elsberry, Jr.; Jacob Elsberry; Joseph Elsberry and Michael Elsberry (1751-1787). Benjamin, Jr. and Michael, went to Wilkes County, Georgia.

Benjamin Elsberry, born ca 1749, of Oglethorpe County died in 1808. The following deeds establish his heirs:

Oglethorpe County Deed Book A, page 51. 3 November 1792. Benjamin Elsberry to William Lasley, both of Wilkes County, Georgia, for 50 pounds sterling land on Troublesome a branch of Long Creek, 200 acres, which land was granted to said Elsberry on 25 November 1788.

Oglethorpe County Deed Book C, page 350. 14 November 1797. Benjamin Elsberry to Jacob Elsberry, both of Oglethorpe County for #128,, being part of a 300 acre survey granted to Benjamin Elsbury on 27 November 1788 and sold by him to Jacob Elsbury on 14 November 1797. /s/ Jacob Elsberry and Elenner Elsberry.

Oglethorpe County Deed Book G, page 166. 13 January 1808. Benjamin Elsberry, executor of the estate of Benjamin Elsberry, deceased, and Jeremiah Nesbit, Nathan Sparks and John Goodman, legatees of estate, relinquish all rights and titles to Needham Norris, Absalom Sparks and Lindsey Elsberry of 143 acres in Said county on Beaverdam Creek waters.

• SALLY ELSBERRY, born ca 1780, married Nathan Sparks on 10 May 1800 in Oglethorpe County.

• Daughter who married John Goodman.
• BENJAMIN ELSBERRY, JR. born ca 1780, married Margaret Luckie on 24 February 1800 in Oglethorpe County.
• LINDSEY ELSBERRY was born 1788 in Georgia[1] and was married on 28 October 1820 in Gwinnett County to Elizabeth Caldwell (1793), the daughter of Curtis Caldwell who died 1853 in Paulding County and named his daughter and other children.[2] The family first resided in DeKalb County where they were listed on the 1830 Census. After the land lottery, they removed to Paulding County and settled near the Holland family on High Shoals Road near Dallas. Lindsey Elsberry died February 1868 in Paulding County. Elizabeth resided with her grandson, George Richard Elsberry in the California District of Paulding County in 1880. Issue:[3]

1. Martha Elsberry was born 1828, married William Spinks of Dallas.
2. Sarah Elsberry, known as "Aunt Sallie,"l was born 20 July 1822 and died 29 May 1902, buried in the High Shoals Cemetery, Dallas, Georgia, was the second wife of Archibald Holland.
3. Benjamin Franklin Elsberry (sometimes called Berry), was born 1824, married on 6 Nov 1843 in Carroll County, Miss Frances Clayton (born 1824). They resided in Dallas, Georgia. Benjamin died in 1914. Issue:

   3. Taylor Elsberry, born 1849 in Paulding County.
   4. William Elsberry, born 1851 in Paulding County, married Miss S. Hardin on 18 Jan 1874 in Paulding County.
   5. Nancy Elsberry, born 1853 in Paulding County.
   6. Les Elsberry, born 1857 in Paulding County.
   7. Daniel Elsberry, born 1858 in Paulding County.
   8. Henry Elsberry, born 1860 in Paulding County.

4. James P. Elsberry, born 6 April 1825, died 10 August 1891, Dallas, Paulding County, Georgia. He was married to Louisa Matthews (born 1834) on 5 Aug 1852 in Paulding County. Issue;[4]

   2. Bartona Elsberry (son), born 1862 in Paulding County.
   3. Sarah Elsberry, born 1866 in Paulding County.
   4. Lindsey Elsberry, born 1869 in Paulding County, married Miss Olly Tant on 7 May 1893 in Paulding County.

5. Nancy "Addie" Elsberry was married on 9 April 1891 to Williamson H. Nichols in Paulding County.
6. Moriah L. Elsberry died 29 August 1898 in Paulding County, married Marcus Alexander Hamilton Durham.
7. Sibbie Lavinnie Elsberry was born Oct 1829, married in 1847 to William Edward Holland, the son of Archibald Holland. She died 26 June 1919 in Dallas, Paulding County.
8. Joseph Curtis Elsberry, born 1832, married 14 June 1855 Frances M. McGregor in Paulding County. Issue:[5]

   1. Emmer Elsberry (son), born 1870 in Acorn Tree, Paulding County.
   2. Barbary Elsberry, born 1871 in Acorn Tree, Paulding County.
   3. Clarinda Elsberry, born 1873 in Acorn Tree, Paulding County.

9. Matthew M. Elsberry, born 1834 in Paulding County, died 11 Aug 1863 in Mobile, Alabama, married on 11 Sept 1859 in Paulding County, Mary Jane Henderson.
10. Zebulon B. Elsberry was born 1 Aug 1836 in Paulding County, died 17 April 1902 in Dallas, Paulding County, married on 6 Jan 1853 in Paulding County Emily C. Baker.
11. Lindsey W. Elsberry, Jr. was born 1837 in Paulding County, died 13 September 1862 in Paulding County, buried in the High Shoals Cemetery. He served in the Confederate Army in Co. A, 40th Georgia Regt. He was married on 30 Aug 1857 in Paulding County to Sarah Ann Holland, a daughter of Archibald Holland.
12. George Richard Elsberry was born 17 Oct 1839 in Paulding County, died 25 Aug 1923 in Paulding County, married Feb 1862 in Paulding County to Elizabeth Victoria Cooper (born 1843). Issue:[6]
