David Dickson, the son of William and the grandson of Michael, was born 23 July 1750 in the backwoods of Pendleton District, South Carolina, and died 1830 in Clayton County, Georgia.
He was an Indian trader. He married (1) on 14 September 1785, Sarah (born 14 February 1750, died 17 September 1785) and had by her one son, viz: [1]
- William Hugh Dickson, born 14 September 1785.
David Dickson (above married (2) Martha Cureton of South Carolina (born 22 March 1764, died 9 September 1796) and had issue as follows:
- Michael Dickson, born 8 December 1788, married Rebecca Aubrey in Jackson County.
- William Dickson, born 20 March 1790.
- Elizabeth Dickson, born 15 February 1791, died 16 November 1792.
- David Dickson, Jr., born 22 March 1792.
- James Dickson, born 10 January 1794.
David Dickson married (3) Anne Allen (born 21 March 1772, died 30 January 1840). The descendants of David Dickson family still reside in Clayton County, Jonesboro area. Some of the notable ones is the Dickson Funeral Home. Issue:
